Please register as soon as possible so we can get an idea of how many films to expect. You are not obligated to submit a film if you register.

Join us for the first ever, Ben Barber Film Festival. Showcase your talents and show everyone you have what it takes to be the next Spielberg.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

 

This is an annual competition open to all MISD students in the following grade level categories:

                                                K-2        ---            3-5             ---             6-8       ---            9-12

 

Films are requested to be under 5  minutes in duration.

 

Students Register at the BBIA Film Festival website and select their own theme to address a particular film category  - Narrative, Documentary, Music Video, PSA. Then, they submit their 2 to 5-minute film to the Film Festival email.

 

Narrative - Tell a fictional story. Make sure it has a beginning middle and end. (Drama, Comedy, Horror, Action, etc..)

 

Documentary -  non-fiction film intended to document some aspect of reality, primarily for the purposes of instruction, education, or maintaining a historical period.

 

Music Video - Music must be original or something you own the copyright to. Use of copyrighted music will be disqualified.

 

Public Service Announcement - A short film with the objective of raising awareness, changing public attitudes and behavior towards a social issue. These can be anywhere from :30 to 2:00

• ***K-5 Only - Stop Motion - A short film that uses a series of pictures with the object moving slightly in each picture to give the illusion of motion.  Some stop motion movies include - Wallace and Gromit, Chicken Run, and  Coraline.
